Objectives:

  • Introduce easy podcasting to
  • Inform our teaching through integrating podcasting and other audio for centers
  • Introduce speech to text tools for
  • Enrich our teaching through using relevant media for different centers for RIM

How can I use it in the classroom?

Set up an activity through an audio station. Here is my example:

Time to Practice:

Now it is time to practice this new tech tool.
1. Follow the steps using the slideshow as your guide.
  • Download Audioboo App...(or go to audioboo.com website on your laptop)
  • Create an account...
  • Follow the steps in the slideshow
  • Create a listening center example to prepare for RIM

2. Mr. Cooper will be going around the room to answer questions and help with the process.

Tips/Reminders:

  • An audioboo can be up to five (5) minutes long
  • Audio files can be uploaded directly to audioboo so if you record yourself through a microphone on your laptop it would serve the same purpose.
  • There are other tools out there that can create audio files on your iPad and computer.
iPad App:
  • WavePad is recommended for editing and more advanced features...
Laptop/Computer Software:
  • Audacity has advanced recording features that can be used for podcasting and creating other audio files.
  • Another PD may be scheduled for people who want to go further in depth on the topic.
